WHAT I'M READING NOW

Updated: Jan 25

Jessie's Girl is the first book in Naima Simone's Love on the Radio series. If you ever heard the lyrics of the 1981 song with the same title by Rick Springfield, then you can guess the plot to this sexy, angst-filled novella. Asa has been secretly in love with India, his best friend's girl, for years. In a moment of weakness, he crosses the line and gives into temptation. He and India share a scorching kiss, but the guilt of betraying his best friend forces him to push India away. When Asa and India cross paths after two years, the heat between them burns hotter than ever before. But is Asa willing to risk his life long friendship with a man whose been closer to him than a brother to be with the woman who could become his life? Asa and India's chemistry is undeniable from the very beginning. What I liked most about this book is Asa knows what he wants and doesn't have any problem communicating his desires to India. He's the big and brooding type, but not silent. The love scenes will have you fanning yourself and squirming in your seat. If you're looking for something quick and steamy to read, pick this one up.

I was not prepared for how good this book is. Kennedy Ryan is one my favorite authors and she did not disappoint with her latest novel, Before I Let Go. I will admit it starts off a little slow, but once it gets going, you will be on a rollercoaster ride of emotions (bring your tissue). It deals with some serious subjects, such as death, grief, severe depression, and mental illness. However, you can't help but be inspired by the main characters' journey to healing. Not to mention, the chemistry between Yasmen and Josiah is on a whole other level. For those of you who enjoy audiobooks, you will love the voice actors cast for this book. They were amazing and fully emerged you into this emotional story. Check it out!

The Twisted Minds Series by Keta Kendric is one of the best series I've read in a long time. I was hooked from book 1. Keta upped the action and tension in book 3 making it nearly impossible to put down. There were some heartbreaking moments, but they only made the conclusion that much sweeter and satisfying. This was definitely a exciting and rewarding read. If you like your heroines as hot, flawed, and deadly as their alpha males then this is the book series for you.
